"How to Qualify for ABET Accreditation" Workshop
"How to Qualify for ABET Accreditation" Workshop will be delivered on 5-6 July 2011 in the Headquarters of the League of Arab States-Cairo, by Professor Adnan Nayfeh, Chair of the International Advisory Committee for King Saud University College of Computer and Information Sciences, in preparation for ABET accreditation.
This workshop focuses on a systematic step-by-step approach to preparing Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences and Technology Programs for ABET accreditation. Specifically, it defines the accreditation processes by introducing and discussing in details the nine specific ABET criteria needed for accreditation. These relate to Students, Program Objectives, Program Outcome and Assessment, Continuous Improvement, Professional Component (Curricula), Faculty, Facilities, Institutional Support and, finally, Program Criteria. It also discusses other important aspects concerning participation from key constituents: professionals, institutions, and industry and government representatives.
ABET is the body empowered to accredit computer science, engineering and technology programs in the United States of America, and now the rest of the world.

- The Outcome-Based Approach to Academic Program Design Workshop.
The workshop is to be presented by Dr. Ali Yaghi with the aim of training participants on the stages of academic programs design. The workshop will be presented to interested individuals from different academic disciplines, such as business administration, engineering, information systems, and pharmacy. The two-day event will be held in a number of Arab countries starting with Jordan, Syria, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The workshop includes lectures and practical applications along with examples extracted from the disciplines involved.
